Kori Located in Tribeca (NYC)
Address: 253 Church Street New York, NY 10013 (between Leonard & Franklin)
Kori is a Korean restaurant that captures the atmosphere of Tribeca, very cool, sophisticated and sleek. Found this place based on my Yelp search and noticed the reviews were very high. I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all. A nice intimate restaurant, depending on where you seat, but its definitely dark when you walk in, I’m guessing to set the “sophisticated intimate” mood.
Let’s talk about the food. The menu has a lot of options to please all types of food lover. I decided to try the Tuna Dolsot Bibim Bap because one I’m a food lover and two, I was indecisive (lol) on what to get from the menu. You’ll first get a fresh small salad served with some amazing sweet/spicy sauce (not sure what it was) but it was very tasty. For appetizer, I ordered the steamed mixed dumplings served half shrimp and half vegetables. For the entree, the Tuna Dolsot Bibim Bap is served with fresh tuna, mixed rice in a sizzling stone bowl(dolsot) sauteed spinach, carrots, soybean sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, roots of balloon flowers, onions, zucchini and is cooked right at your table. This dish is fresh and full of flavor right in a bowl.
Overall I will definitely go back to Kori again to try more from their menu. I give this place a 4 out 5. This is not a place that’s good for a huge group, best for a date or party of 4 max.
