Shrimp & Chicken Taco with Mango Salsa

Shrimp & Chicken Taco with Mango Salsa


  • 1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 8 jumbo shrimp
  • 4 corn tortillas
  • 1/2 red onion, 1 green pepper (both sliced and chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 1 tsp. lime zest
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbs. ground cumin
  • 1/2 Tbs. ground chili chipotle
  • 1/2 C. mango salsa (buy from a local grocery store)
  • 1/3 C. fresh cilantro, chopped


  1. Season the chicken and shrimp with salt, pepper, lime zest, chili chipotle and cumin.
  2. Grease a skillet with olive oil and pre heat over medium heat. Cook the onion, green peppers and garlic cloves for 3 to 5 minutes. Add a pinch of salt during the process of cooking.
  3. Grease the skillet again with olive oil and 1st cook the shrimp for about 5 minutes or until the shrimp are well done. Transfer to a bowl and set aside while preparing the chicken.
  4. Now add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and chop the chicken into pieces before serving.
  5. Now time to eat! Serve the chicken and shrimp separately on different tortillas. Spoon the meat into warmed tortillas with onions, peppers, garlic mix, mango salsa, and top with cilantro.

  1. Tried this awesome recipe but instead i went to kroger and bought a rotisserie chicken it turned out amazing. Thanks for sharing.
